Razvoj cestnega omrežja na Slovenskem ob koncu 18. in v 19. stoletju. Predelana doktorska disertacija
The work deals with the development of the road network in Slovenia in the 18th and 19th centuries, with a focus on the 19th century. The directions and development of roads of various categories, from national to provincial and municipal roads, are presented. Mitren and Mitnina, which appear in a dual role, are also discussed. On the one hand, they were intended to generate money for road maintenance, on the other hand, they represented an increasing obstacle to traffic. The work also presents road construction techniques in the 19th century and the difficulties of maintaining and financing existing roads. It deals with the road laws that applied to the national and provincial roads, as well as the police regulations. The safety of people and goods, which was often endangered on the roads of the 18th and 19th centuries, is also dealt with.
