Statement on the use of generative artificial intelligence

1. Založba ZRC does not publish publications in which generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is listed as author or co-author.

2. The use of GenAI is permitted for improving, correcting, designing, and editing publications if the following conditions are met:

a. Responsibility: Authors who use AI must check and critically evaluate the results. Reviewers and editors at Založba ZRC do not use GenAI for content analysis of submitted texts (i.e. they do not upload manuscripts to any GenAI model).

b. Transparency: Any substantial use of GenAI (e.g. preparation of draft translations or summaries, data analysis, creation of images or diagrams) must be clearly indicated and described in the final published version. For less substantial tasks (e.g. spelling checks, standardisation of bibliographies, technical improvements to images), the use of GenAI does not need to be recorded.

3. The statement on the use of GenAI in Založba ZRC publications is in line with the Recommendations for the Responsible Use of AI Tools at ZRC SAZU. It was adopted at the 55th meeting of the Založba ZRC Advisory Board in February 2026.
