Monografije k Zbranim delom slovenskih pesnikov in pisateljev
Inštitut za slovensko literaturo in literarne vede / Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies
A monograph on a poet or writer is usually published as the conclusion of his or her collected work. It thus represents the culmination and scholarly synthesis of a critical edition of an author's work and therefore offers as comprehensive an overview as possible of the writer's life and work. Each monograph usually contains some general elements, such as: a biography of the writer with suitably detailed, positively verified biographical data; an account of the writer's literary output, either by period or in its entirety, with interpretative elements where appropriate; an account of the literary reception and the relationship between the writer and society; and, in particular, a biographical sketch of the writer, including a description of his or her work where appropriate. Despite the various professional orientations and personal modulations, the books in the sub-collection retain their reference and scholarly character.
