The first volume of the Slovenski lingvistični atlas ('Slovenian Linguistic Atlas') consists of two parts: Atlas and Comments. It deals with the vocabulary of the semantic field “human" – body, diseases, family. It contains 413 geolinguistic maps with material from 143 dialect points from Slovenia and all the four neighbouring countries. In addition, the first volume includes introductory and explanatory chapters, which also apply to the next seven volumes that are expected to appear.
