The Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies is active in the study of old and new Slovenian literature, comparative literature, literary and cultural theory, the history and methodology of comparative studies, textual criticism, and scholarly editions of Slovenian literature. Following the development of digital humanities, the institute creates a digital repository of manuscripts and critical editions. This project, for example, has made it possible to access the Freising manuscripts on-line.
