Historična topografija Kranjske (do 1500)

The first book in the new series of historical-topographical handbooks covers the territory of the Duchy of Carniola up to the year 1500. The volume includes 3,608 Carniolan toponyms — villages, hamlets, market towns, cities, castles, manors, field and water names, and others — along with their historical variants as recorded in sources up to 1500 (such as charters, urbaria, feudal, accounting, notarial, and cartulary books, etc.).

The entries are arranged alphabetically. Each historical form of a name is accompanied by the date of its attestation, a reference to the source in which it appears, the location of the source (archive, library, etc.), and, when applicable, a citation of the published edition. The entire corpus comprises more than 24,400 historical variants of Carniolan geographical names (paleonyms).
