The Slovenian Migration Institute is engaged in the research of migration processes in Slovenia and internationally. Specifically, it focuses on the emigration of Slovenians (and the offspring of these emigrants) to foreign countries, the immigration of non-Slovenians (and the offspring of these immigrants) into Slovenia, the return of emigrants to Slovenia, migration policies in general and how the Slovenian economy, education, culture, art, and ethnic belonging affect migrants. The Slovenian Migration Institute publishes Dve domovini / Two Homelands.
